This week Memetales Readathon week 2 theme is Friendship  We have enjoyed reading the books on Memetales to go with the friendship week, by reading them on the Memetales iphone app or computer together. Today I did an activity with my older children around a discussion after we had read the friendships books below we have in our story basket.  The books are about teaching the children that friendship is about giving and taking, and the ways you can learn to be great friends.   For our discussion I used two posters we have up in our house, we have them on the walls as a way to talk to our own children about our families Christian faith. But thought they would be great to use for talking about friendships as well.   Once we had talk about what the posters were saying, I asked the children to write down ideas that could help us be good friends or build new friendships based on the points in the posters.Here are some of the things there came up with;   I could share my snack with a friend.Share toys with friends. Give cuddles and hugs. Help others friend and new friends. Encourage old and new friends to join in. Listen to what friends are saying. Make my friends Happy with Jokes. Stop doing something when a friend asks. Say we are sorry if we upset friends. Understand friends make mistakes. Be nice to new people at school. Offer to play with new people. Invite friends around to play. Sit and talk with my friends. Play games with my friends. Help my friends when they are hurt.  I then displayed it in our playroom for others to see and read. |
